Uhhhh. he is against Federally owned property?

He obviously knows nothing of “sovreign immunity” that the Federal Gov’t and the states enjoy, or of the “Supremacy Clause”. I wonder what he would want to do with National Parks and Wildlife Preserves?

He thinks as Governor, he can disregard Federal Judges decisions, and “stand up” to them.

Would be interesting to see a Governor held in Federal Contempt, though this guy has as much of a chance at becoming Governor as I do.

We know he doesn’t have a chance to win, especially since he’s not eve on the ballot, we’d have to write his name, and that of his Lt. Governor, Randy White in…

however - it is a PRO-LIFE vote which counts - and spares us IL Catholics from having to vote for one of the other two very Pro-Choice candidates the republicans and democrats have put forth.

We have to get the word out to those parties that we will not support strong pro-choicers.

:amen:

FYI: I have let all my friends and family know that we actually have a “choice” a “pro-life” choice.

Everyone that I personally know is voting for Stufflebeam.

I realize that he’s a “write-in” and may not have much of a chance of getting into office. However, I know voting for him would send a clear message to both Republican/Democratic parties that we want a Pro-life candidate.

All half of one percent of us!
Better than if no one made the statement.

Voting is the one oppportunity each citizen has to show their support for the government which guides their lives.

We would be fools not to use this opportunity to speak our mind = in a legitimate manner which has to be heard. Sure, we could write in the Pope, or Mickey Mouse but that just says you don’t like the two candidates - it does not indicate why.

Voting for a third party pro-lifer (if there is one on the ballot, which there is not on ours here in IL) makes a statement for life - even though the person has no chance of winning.

Since we don’t have a pro-lifer on the ballot we can write in the name of a pro-life slate which filed papers but did not garner enough signatures to be placed on the ballot.

Writing in Randy Stuffflebeam (pro-life) and Randy White (pro-life) is a vote cast with a message.

Much better, in my opinion, from no vote being cast at all. Leaving the decision up to only those people who care enough to go to the polls in the first place,

while there is a viable percentage of conscientious voters living in the state who are keeping silent by abstaining.

I, for one, insist IL hear my vote for a pro-life candidate. I refuse to stay home and remain silent, which is precisely what the Dems and Repubs would love to see happen. Hush us up.

I’m not from Illinois, but I thought I’d mention that voting for a third party can indeed send a message. Don’t forget how Ross Perot’s original run for office set the whole process on its ear and sent a message loud and clear! In addition, third party candidates can act as “spoilers” for other candidates. I say “go for it” Illinois and send that message loud and clear! 🙂

Thanks for the support!!!👍

I’m voting for Randy Stufflebeam! Everyone I know is also voting for Stufflebeam.

I don’t disagree. And I’m thankful that Randy has offerred people an option to vote their consciences. However, the statement really won’t go very far if the votes cast for him aren’t in signifigant number. In fact, the message which may be received is that people who agree with him (for whatever reason, whether it be pro-life or something else - personally I’d like to know his position on transportation and infrastruture policy/funding) are a dismissable minority not worth paying attention to. Now, if he could get 15-20%, maybe it would communicate more signifigantly. But that is not at all likely.

Yes, I understand that position, as I wrestle with it myself.

Question:

Is the fact that the votes won’t be significant enough to get the Dem/Rep parties to pay attention keeping you from casting such a vote and thus cast one for the Dem/Rep?

Or

Is the fact keeping you from voting at all?

I’m a Chicagoan. I’ll vote as many times as I possibly can!

Really, I don’t know who I’m going to vote for in the gubinitorial race yet, though.
