We’ve had a priest, while he was lifting the Chalice, scoop up a few Hosts, in his sleeve.

As he finished the consecration, they slid further back into the sleeve.

When he was distributing Communion they we falling out, one by one. And sometimes two by two.

No EMHC involved. And no patent would have helped.

He checks his sleeves now. Every Mass.

In other words,it happens. No need to panic, no need to get upset. Calmly pick them up and consume them, or allow the priest to take care of the situation.

Something similar happened to one of our priests. He tells the story to all the new EMHCs so they know accidents can happen to anyone.

Really - no EMHC? I can’t think of a single OF Mass I’ve seen that didn’t have EMHCs.
The EMHCs in our parish only minister the Chalice. The Hosts are only distributed by the priest at 99% of Masses.

One of the parishes where I go to Mass has no EMHCs at all, even for hospital visits. It’s a small parish with 150 families.

Well, something like this happened at my church last Sunday. The extraordinary minister accidentally dropped the Host, so the usher standing beside him just picked it up and ate it.
