Finally saw this film.

Wow.

Just wow.

So heartbreaking.

Three thoughts.
  1. What took you so long?
  2. It’s been NINE YEARS since it came out?!?
  3. I need to watch it again. I caught the beginning of it on cable a few weeks ago, but didn’t stay to watch the whole thing, nor did I record it. Wonder if it’s on Netflix streaming …

**One of all time favorite movies - however not beacuse it was filled with music I could sing and lines that brought laughter.

One of the most challenging movies to watch. One profoundly sprititual moving movie.

The reason I found this movie so moving - is because of Our Lady of Kibeho…who appeared in Rwanda in 1981 - predicated the 1994 genocide of Rwanda - which the movie is all about.

It reminded me of the universality of the Church - we are all One Body in Christ. Sometimes I forget that in my confortable home in a vibrant Cathilic community.**

Exactly! Very impressive movie and the fact that our Lady of Kibeho predicted it with such detail makes it even more moving. That movie should be mandatory for everybody.

I don’t know what took me so long. Heck, I have a history degree. It’s a darn good movie.

To answer your question: yes, it’s on Netflix streaming in the U.S. at least. I know that because that’s how I watched it.

Also what was nice: the movie showed the Priests and Nuns in a good light.

Also, there were many heroic characters like Paul Rusesabagina (the main character) and the Canadian Colonel. They were both real people (the Canadian Colonel’s name was changed, but he was real.)
