How about 2 minutes of silence at the beginning of every Mass for the ongoing mass killing of unborn children in abortion mills?

Last week was Holocaust Remembrance Day. In the State of Israel, everyone in the nation stops for 2 minutes on this in commemoration of the Holocaust suffered by the Jewish people. No one moves for 2 minutes. All traffic stops.

Wouldn’t it be good to do something similar at the beginning of EVERY MASS?

58 million totally innocent babies have been legally killed by heartless or ignorant Americans since 1973, and the killing continues at the pace of about 1 million per year.

Shouldn’t we do SOMETHING more than what we as a Catholic People have been doing?

Who would support this? Please chime in.

Yes, there are other issues out there. But none of them has this level of direct mass murder of such massively large numbers of totally innocent people.

The 9-11 terror attacks killed about 3,000 people, and the America People appropriately reacted with great force, and great expense of money, to punish the wrongdoers, and to prevent other such attacks.

But just think. That was only 3,000 people murdered. There have been 53 million killed in the US since 1973 in the monstrous abortion killing centers. Have we reacted to this 53 million killed with anything like the seriousness with which we responded to the 3,000 murdered?

We can’t just go on with our lives as if everything is normal. A two minute moment of silence at the beginning of every Mass would be a constant reminder that we live in a period of UNPRECEDENTED EVIL.

That is an excellent idea. However, in our society many Catholics find ways to justify and support abortion, so it is difficult to get much support for it. However, I think it’d be worth proposing at your parish, or at least have a Mass dedicated to it. I think I will try to do so at my parish.

As long as the sanctity of life and the evil of abortion itself were stressed, and no mention of political agenda were made, I don’t think it would have to be.

The Prayers Of The Faithful are the proper place in the Mass for this intention. No one needs to remind us of the age we live in. There has always been and will always be evil until Jesus returns.

While we are at it, can we add 1 minute for all the children who die of starvation, 30 seconds for those who die from lack of medical care, 45 seconds for those who are murdered but not by abortion and 15 seconds for all those abused by clergy? You see where I am going. There is a place for remembrance and indignation but the Mass is not it.
