How about a discussion on "True Devotion"?

Dear All,

I’m not sure how many persons who are reading this thread have already consecrated themselves to Jesus and Mary using the method St. Louis De Montfort urges in his “True Devotion”. If you have never participated in the 33 Days of preparation and prayed the “Act of Consecration” written by St. Louis De Montfort, you may want to consider beginning this 33 Day Preparation on Feb. 20 and ending with your Consecration ( or re-consecration if you have already done this) on Mar. 25, the Feast of the Annunciation. Here is another quote which can inspire us from the words of “True Devotion”:

I would be happy to know that some of you will be joining me in this.
This is a wonderful devotion. I have created my own prayer which I use as an intro before praying my daily prayers associated with this devotion. It goes like this:

“Holy Spirit, lead me to a perfect consecration to Jesus Christ, with Mary, in Mary, through Mary, and for Mary, that my devotion may be interior, trusting, holy, constant, and disinterested.”

Does anyone here recommend the little book
“In Imitation of Mary”?

Dear Mary,

Many years ago I read a little book entitled “The Imitation of Mary”, written as a companion to the classic “Imitation of Christ” by Thomas a Kempis. If this is the book you are referring to HERE is more information. I think this book was helpful at the time I read it, but I have found “True Devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary” by St. Louis De Montfort even more helpful and continue to re-read that one more than any other Marian book.

There is also a more modern version by Rev. Alexander de Rouville, titled “The Imitation of Mary”. See HERE for information.

Dear Stylteralmaldo,

Thanks for your reply, and for your devotion to Mary. Are you planning to make the 33 Day Preparation for re-consecration starting on Feb. 20?

Actually, I do my consecration beginning in October in time for the feast of Our Lady’s presentation in November.

Dear Stylteralmaldo,

Thanks again for your reply. That is a very lovely Feast Day on which to consecrate oneself. I try to re-consecrate myself on all Mary’s major Feast days, but usually only include the 33 Day Preparation in connection with the Feast of the Annunciation on March 25, so I will begin my preparation next week, God willing on Feb. 20.

Anyone else planning to begin the preparation on Feb. 20 besides me? I thought we might discuss each day, if anyone would like to do that. 🙂
