How are the families of married priests financially supported?

A Protestant minister typically has alot more free time than a Catholic priest, so I don’t think that’s a very good example.

Did there used to be a paucity of “white” clergy? Are you using this term racially, and if so, are you talking about those from Anglo-European extraction?
Refers to married clergy. Some jurisdictions had married men wear white or gray riassa and celibates wear black riassa.

Just a note to cast my vote for married priests! 🙂

Have lots of them in my family and know many, EC and Orthodox and now some Anglican Use clerics.

A number of them work as teachers to support their families, and their wives work as well.

They are all committed to their parishes, make themselves available at all times, and I notice that the women of the parish love going to the Presbytera/wife of the priest to discuss things more freely than they would to the priest (married or not).

As for the issue of “pleasure,” if anyone thinks that being faithful and devoted to one another through thick and thin in marriage nowadays is “pleasureable” - they should get married and try staying married.
