I just want to kick, scream and pull the hair out of my head!

Some don’t believe the videos

Some feel that it’s ok because it’s only a tiny portion of their business.

What the hell? How much more evidence do they need?

The nazis only cut up the Jews a little bit for medical research too. It wasn’t their main objective either.

There is no “Planned Parenthood” where I am so I don’t have to deal with them at all. However it’s not a tiny portion of their business; “Planned Parenthood” is the biggest abortion provider in the world. A woman who goes in for an abortion is given all sorts of tests and may be handed a condom as she walk out the door. “PP” then can then fudge the numbers to say that a whole bunch of other services are offered when in reality they were all brought about by the woman coming in for an abortion in the first place which is the only way they can deceptively say that abortion only counts for 3% of their services.

I had a conversation with a Planned Parenthood employee recently who…get this… was a vegan. According to her, it was permissible to spare the lives of animals for human consumption because killing them was “inhumane”; but a baby has zero rights and should be killed “because the law allows it”.
All I could say was, “I will pray for you”. I was so taken aback, I could not have been charitable nor Christian with this person. So, I just walked away.

It’s just really scary to see how desensitized society is to seeing pieces of babies in dishes. I blame violent movies. I mean…we are seeing entire legs being picked up by tongs in the Planned Parenthood videos. Shouldn’t that make us freak out and DEMAND de-legalization of abortion? And the entire nation goes on barely caring. Amazing.

Frankly, I am not a good verbal debater, so I usually don’t talk engage in abortion discussions with people. I generally just listen to their views if I happen to hear them and marvel at how educated people could be so morally blind. And oftentimes I will say a prayer…and apologize to the Lord on their behalf.

I had a similar conversation with a person who was also a vegan but was completely pro-choice. She was angry about an article written about animal slaughter and how did I feel about it. I told her I attend weekly mass and see a man nailed to a cross who was tortured prior to his death. I cannot understand that disconnect myself.

I’m appealing to them from logic.

Fact: The ACA (Obamacare) provides free birth control, free OBGYN (one annual exam) and free physicals (one annual exam).

Does this not make Planned Parenthood an anachronism? Hasn’t its functions essentially been replaced by the ACA? Is it not, then, merely another entrenched bureaucracy that we should stop funding now that it’s been replaced with something much more far-reaching?

I don’t bring up any of the videos or abortion, etc. I’m taking one thing they like and telling them that something they love (the ACA) has replaced it.

I haven’t found one liberal that could counter that with a good argument, and some even agree with me outright.

And those cannot be rationally debated. You can’t argue with someone who refuses to acknowledge that facts/evidence. All you can do is pray for them.
Some feel that it’s ok because it’s only a tiny portion of their business.
You can probably have a discussion with these folks, but maybe not. Ask questions and point out the facts that show that PP support eventually points solely to abortion.
-“Only 3% of their business is abortion.” Why is that okay? Why would you support a company that dedicates 3% of its “services” to killing unborn children?
-MANY state and local facilities offer affordable/free women’s healthcare…and they don’t perform abortions. Why not support those instead? Why support the one that differs only in its provision of abortions? With abortion taken out of the picture, and in light of the other clinics/facilities that are available [where abortion is not offered], PP is obsolete.
The nazis only cut up the Jews a little bit for medical research too. It wasn’t their main objective either.
Exactly. That’s a point you can make and demand a rational response to (though you might not get one). Why support an organization that spends ANY of its resources on killing unborn babies? Why is “only a tiny portion” okay with you? Especially when there are other alternatives for great healthcare available who do NOT perform abortions?

Oh, if they then backpetal to the “we don’t know when life begins” bit, Catholic Answers has an EXCELLENT short video on that, with the scientific evidence that life begins at conception…even according to pro-abortion experts. I tried to put it into written format [as close as I could to the actual video] for those like us who debate online and want quick access to the facts. I also linked the videos within the text. Use freely, and credit CA (or Trent Horn) for the information.

Why is Abortion Wrong (taken directly from Trent Horn’s “When Does Life Begin?”)

It’s just really scary to see how desensitized society is to seeing pieces of babies in dishes. . . . And the entire nation goes on barely caring. Amazing.
From my perspective, it looks like the nation is up in arms. Thousands of people demonstrated last Saturday, I even attended a demonstration, which is rare for me.
We need to get the legislators and leaders to pay attention. Apparently nobody in the White House has admitted to watching the videos. I don’t get that.
I was angry before, and I’m even angrier now. I can barely refrain from heaving bricks through my local Planned Parenthood’s windows. I don’t do it because it would do no good.
Some Congressmen are presenting bills to defund the organization, and some states have done so, People are really upset by the revelations. This will not go away.

I think this will blow over in time. The shear amount of smear campaigns against pro choice people is overwhelming. Every time the CMP releases a video it immediately has 2-3 other websites trying to play it off as highly edited Christian brainwashing garbage.

I fear that America will turn this into Christian morality vs secularism rather than human rights.

However a losing battle of good vs evil is still a battle worth waging, and I suspect that heaven is talking about all the pro life protesters doing all they can to stop this.

Satan may win this battle, but we know who wins the war.

Fight on I guess 🙂

I like to tell PP staff I look forward to seeing their facility close down as I’m praying nearby.

Aside from that I can argue with anyone, however, it seems that many would prefer to quarrel. The difference is that arguing depends on facts while quarrelling is primarily driven by emotions and tends to be or get negative quickly. I don’t like to quarrel as it is not conducive to Christian charity.

I firmly believe that the greatest reason why evil such as what PP engages in has become so prevalent is because not enough prayer from enough people is reaching the Throne of God. When Pope Francis called for prayers to avoid conflict that Obama was attempting to engage in Syria a few years ago, God gave us victory. How many times has prayer saved us? Lepanto? Siege of Vienna? The list is long yet we fail to recognize that we have the power so long as we pray God give the victory.

See bolded, I think (or at least hope) you meant to say pro-life 🤷

I pick and choose my battles.

The latest argument that I keep running into is why are pro-lifers going after PP when IVF also destroys human life and nobody’s going after it.

I tell them that they obviously haven’t read Catholic teaching on IVF and that it really isn’t hard to find people who are also troubled by IVF if pay attention to the pro-life movement. A lot of people really just don’t want to hear the variety of voices there are on this topic.

(Conservative Catholic, Protestant circles. All you really have to do is turn on EWTN tv or radio and you can find people talking about these things! It’s not a big secret!)

Other times, I just shake my head and say a small prayer knowing that is the best way to treat people charitable.

I also went to one of the PP protests in my area and was thrilled to be a part of an amazing event.

I think selling human body is very wrong, and those who do this should be dealt with according to the law.

The scandal should not be used to close down/ illegalize the abortion clinics.

To illegalize abortion clinics will ensure this activity (fetus organ sale) will continue to happen in illegal clinics.

I have found either they are hiding from the content of the videos or hiding from the illogical hypocrisy of their own views.

Education is important here.

I heard a far-left pontificator on the radio say this PP scandal is just a smoke screen to put an end to abortion (although he worded it “a woman’s right to choose”). And I was thinking, “Yes, yes, actually that’s exactly the goal. No smoke screen. We are trying to save babies’ lives and prevent them from having their faces cut in half with scissors.”

I think PP supporters just avoid watching the videos.

I try to respond by putting the transcripts in places where they can be read, such as social media.

Overall, I respond with science. As a science guy, I think the PP side has framed the discussion for decades. I’m trying to fight back.

Actually, this does not surprise me. Conscience will have its day, and it sounds like this person knows full well what she is doing is horribly wrong but tries to ease her conscience by “making up” for it elsewhere.

I don’t know any supporters in real life (I probably do but the occasion to talk about it never came up — suppose I can thank God for that), but occasionally I browse blogs and comments.

Never know when I should speak up (and get angry and overzealous and prideful) or just stay silent and pray.

The stupidest argument I hear is (paraphrased) “It’s legal so get over it”. “In the eyes of the law, it’s not a baby until it’s born.”

Somehow, somewhere satan has convinced people that human laws can cover up terrible tragedy and murder — just stick your head in the sand and it’s a-ok.

HOW DID SOCIETY COME TO THIS?!
