Come on! Hit me with your best adjectives. I can take it.

What has he done for you? How has he interceded for you?

Very awesome. I did a novena to him as St. Joseph the Worker for help finding work, and I found a job shortly after.

Saint Joseph is one of my favorites. He has given me a pattern for living; humble surrender, strength in times of trials, unconditional love of God and love for Mary and Jesus.🙂

St. Joseph has done more for me than anyone aside from Jesus and Mary. St. Joseph listened to me when I had literally no one to confide in, no one to trust. He has been a father to me.

As an example, when our drunken landlord unexpectedly threw us out of our horrible, rat-infested hole of a house, St. Joseph found us a house. It was a freshly-remodeled one, in a neighborhood that is quiet, with plenty of space for our children to play, that is not too far from my husband’s work, and that has a house payment cheaper than our previous rent.

And he got us approved for our housing loan, more quickly and with less difficulty than our realtor had ever seen before – AND we are foreigners in Japan, so getting approved, even though we qualified, was not a done deal.

With over a month to spare, St. Joseph got us moved out of our old, horrid rental house and into a fresh, beautiful, larger, newer one, with more space for our half dozen daughters.

And when we were kicked out, I was pregnant with #6, so added stress was not good. St. Joseph arranged everything.

That is only one instance of the many, many ways in which he has looked out for me. I love him, so very much.

Awesome, and thank you for the “Worker” Novena reference, I was not familiar and will use/pass along. I have received many blessings from GOD, through HIS SON through HIS father.

I have prayed the Novena: O glorious St. Joseph, through the love you bear to JESUS CHRIST, and for the glory of HIS NAME, hear our prayers and obtain our petitions. (7x) *.

I have felt some powerful intercessions on my behalf, and have obtained immediate peace in my prayers.

The LIVING CHRIST was still entrusted to an earthly father, and one with great humility. There is great ardor required in raising a child, and great duty in raising a common man, much more so JESUS.

Thank you JESUS and LORD for one such as this to pray for us.*

This is good stuff! 🙂

Me?

Well, I had a cushy contract with a university, but they left my high-and-dry at the end of six years. I had to find another job immediately (such is the nature of teaching in Japan, but whatever). So my wife prayed the St. Joseph novena that I’d find work.

Guess what happened?

Seriously, you’ll never guess this.

I was at my local supermarket doing some grocery shopping, and the woman in front of me turned to me and asked what I was doing here in Japan. I said teaching university but that I’d just lost my job.

She said she was quitting her teaching job. Did I want it?

!!!

And the rest is history. I’ve been with this university six years now, and the job security is the best.

Thank you, St. Joseph!

I’m not letting this thread die, yo.

🙂

St. Joseph had Mary and Jesus under his roof, but he was the head of their family.

Think about that. Joseph was in charge, responsible for them both.

mind=blown

I like this topic, such beautiful stories.

I have never given St. Joseph much thought, but lately he has been on my mind. I know that St. Joseph is connected to work and protection of families, but is there a devotion to him that emphasises his fathering role to Jesus? I have such a deep need for a father who will take care of me and protect me, although I am a grown woman with a husband and children. Does St. Joseph take care of us who technically have fathers but have never known what having a father is really like? 😦

Oh, yes!! Most definitely. The devotion to him as a father can be very fruitful.

Talk to him. Let him know you need a father figure, and he’ll help you out.

He is practical, reliable, protective, and loving, as the best of fathers.

Best.Realtor.Ever.
🙂
But not that silly “St. Joseph, I place you in this distressful position upside down until you sell my home” mafia style prayer you see on the internet either, just intercessory prayer on his part.

I love St. Joseph so much. What a great example of a husband, guardian, worker, humility. and so on.

God bless
