“PeaceInChrist”, I appreciate your arguments so far, and they do give me pause for thought. I m not ignoring what you are saying, and I do see why you are saying it. However if the preservation of democracy is truly a greater good despite its potential evils, then I don’t see how it is possible that gay marriage and abortion laws can be over turned without usurping democracy and forcing ones religious beliefs on the rest of society through legal enforcement. You cannot expect protection from everybody else’s beliefs and then expect the government to enforce your beliefs. That does not make sense.

Now you could argue that the preservation of democracy and the principle of not forcing your belief on other people is less important than stopping abortion and gay marriage, and if that is in fact true, then I would be forced to agree with you. But I strongly disagree that this is true. If that puts me at odds with the truth as far as God is concerned, then I pray god helps me to see the light and I hope nobody is mislead by my reasoning.
