How can dinosaurs have come before Adam & Eve?

How could Dinosaurs come before Adam & Eve, if God created everything in 6 days. I was always taught that in those 6 days he created many things among them animals and humans. All of this in 6 days. So I guess I am confused, how could dinosaurs be around and not humans, if everything was created in those 6 days?
