When I look back on my life, I don’t believe that I was able to convert anybody to the catholic faith.

So, what chance do I really have to be able to convince my non-church going friend to WANT to attend sunday Mass?!? What can I say to convince a lapsed catholic to go back to Mass.

Thank you!

You could say, “I like to go to mass on Sunday, would you like to come with me one day?”

I had left the Church for years, and some friends, Catholic, helped convince me to go mainly by their example. One would simply say grace before eating, and I saw reminders of her faith all over the place…an open Bible on a pedestal, the Last Supper, just all kinds of things. I knew she went to weekly mass.

My other friend was also good at modeling her faith. I think simply being around them, they would mention their faith when it came up, and I think it all had an impact on me.

I think Catholics typically miss the Eucharist, especially.

Incidentally, one of those 2 friends I just mentioned once invited me to go with her, her 2 sons, to an Christmas/Easter mass she liked…nice music, a family tradition. My ex-husband found it interesting and went with us, and he is a lapsed Catholic, was agnostic!

She said that’s how to reach someone, that one time, they might go for the music, and who knows?
