How can I find a good sponsor for RCIA/Baptism/Confirmation?

How do I choose a sponsor for my RCIA/Baptism/Confirmation? I am 17, live in the UK, and am starting RCIA in September and will hopefully be baptised next Easter. The only problem is I don’t think that there are any Catholics in my family, and I only really know one other person who is a practising Catholic, but as far as I know - and I don’t mean to judge - the only really Catholic thing she does is goes to Mass every Sunday, but I would personally like someone more committed to the Church to be my sponsor; I feel that person should be able to guide me on my way to the family of God. Do you think I should ask her to be my sponsor? If not, what choices do I have?

Ask your priest or RCIA leader. Surely one of them should know someone who would be right for you.
