I just spoke with a woman, tonight, who has an interest in the Catholic church but almost no exposure to Chrisitianity, at all. She has a Bible, but is struggling with the combined difficulty of reading it in a foreign language and having absolutely no Christian background to give what she’s reading context.

Any suggestions? I’d love to get her a good Catholic Bible in Vietnamese, but any kind of introductory materials to Christianity, even a Picture Bible, would be great.

Any help is appreciated. Thank you!!

very carefully.😛

ok now that my smart-alec response is out of the way, i would recommend going to your local catholic bookstore, if they dont have anything usually they are more than happy to order it for you:D

I would probably contact a Vietnamese priest. It seems that I have a few in my diocese. There are quite a few Vietnamese Catholics on the Gulf coast so they must have information somewhere.

Thanks, everyone! And thanks for your sleuthing iBenedicta!! I’m only a teensy bit worried that the publisher is protestant and I can’t verify for myself that there’s nothing misleading in the text (say, in the foreward). I wish I could verify that it has a nihil obstat! I might go for it, anyway, though…
