I struggle with lack of validation. I receive plenty of attention and praise regarding various things, but I long not for that, instead, I long for someone to look me seriously in the eyes and say “child, you have done enough. Be at peace.” Rather than tell me how I am going to succeed at my next feat.

What are some ways I can find my validation in Christ, rather than searching for it from people who surround me?

This is exactly what Jesus says to us.

It can be very difficult to not focus on validation of others and instead just focus on validation from our Lord. But you should pray to him for that.

Reading some of St.Faustina’s diary can help reveal to you how much Jesus loves you.

“Searching for and Maintaining Peace: A Small Treatise on Peace of Heart” by Jacques Philippe is a great Catholic book that may help you

Contemplate God’s unconditional love for you as a person. Strengthen your relationship with Jesus through personal prayer. Speak to him as you would to a friend or a trusted relative, and listen too.

The Bible can teach us about God’s love. For me, the Gospel of John is full of love. Read for example John 14, the whole chapter, in which he speaks to the apostles at the Last Supper, and John 17, his prayer to the Father for our sake.

Matthew 16
24 Then Jesus said to his disciples: If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
Matthew 11
28 Come to me all you that labor and are burdened, and I will refresh you. 29 Take up my yoke upon you, and learn of me, because I am meek, and humble of heart: And you shall find rest to your souls. 30 For my yoke is sweet and my burden light.

Read the book by Fr Phillipe “Searching For and Maintaining Peace”, pray the Litany of Humility, read 1 Corinthians chapter 13 every day.

I’m not sure what you mean by validation?
Do you mean faith and hope?
Are you looking for spiritual foundation as to where you stand currently on your spiritual path?
