I was married (in the Catholic church) for 12 years and am now civilly divorced. I have learned that my husband has narcissm and sex addiction, which existed before our marriage (the first being a personality disorder and the second being a psychological disorder). How can I prove the sex addiction, which would be grounds for a Catholic annulment? Such counseling and pshychology diagnoses are private and protected by law.

Dear friend,

How do you, yourself know about the fact that his behavior is a matter of sexual addiction? The fact that you know what it is, shows that someone has given you this information. Let the marriage tribunal concern itself with proof. It is possible that a way can be found. Your husband isn’t living in a vacuum. There has to be some public history. You are in our prayers.
