I would like to know how I can spead the word of Jesus Christ, and Our Lady, since I,am a member of Our Lady,s Apostalte, and would like to bring people closer to Jesus and Mary.,. If I were to go to nursing homes or were their are sick people in Hosptials,How do I get them to let me bring their spirit, s up, because I see many older people at nursing homes, and Hosptials, might feel better, if their spirit was lifted up. I just got this feeling I can put a brigher look on people if places would allow me do visit sick people.Any Ideas?.

Go the pastor in your church and ask to be admitted to the next class for Eucharistic Ministers. Once you are commissioned, you can approach nursing home and hospital as a volunteer to bring the Eucharist to Roman Catholics in their care. You will have to have blood titers for measles, mumps, rubella and a TB test and you will also have to attend at least one meeting of volunteers for such establishments. Once you obtain your hospital identification and/or nursing home identification as a volunteer, you will then be assigned to Pastoral Care and can fill an empty slot for a Eucharistic Minister. Bringing our Lord Jesus to people in hospitals who can be (and often are) quite ill and even dying is not an easy task, by any means. You must be spiritually mature. But it is a tremendous blessing, one that will change your life. And you will make a huge difference to the sick and very elderly. Your hope and faith and your love for Mary and Jesus will shine through you and you can give much hope to people who are in crisis, even family members.

Pray about this. And say the rosary every day, ask our Mother to guide and direct you in the best way you can serve her and her Son.

I will add that you can just go to a local nursing home and volunteer. There are no shortage of folks sitting there all day long with no visitors. You could make a full ministry just sitting down and talking to people all day, whether RC or not. All need Christs love reflected to them.

One benefit of not having a Eucharistic visitor “schedule” is you can move as the Spirit leads and speak to any you come across.

As stated previously, you will have to go through the facility procedure for training and getting on board.

Good luck. I hope you find it fulfilling!

Perhaps you could look into becoming a Stephen’s Minister? They are not specifically RC, though we have them in my parish. They volunteer to help someone cope with difficult life experiences, such as widowhood, loneliness, loss. You would receive training to know whether their situation could be helped by your mentorship or if they needed to seek psychiatric advice instead.

Hi,
Pray for guidance. The Lord will show you the way if you offer yourself for service.
I did and was then led to create a website to bring others into the flock.
Please visit us there.

Two things that brighten up their lives are little children and small cute pets. They just love to see them.

Many nursing homes have a person who directs entertainment and social events. If you can sing, and find someone to play an instrument, sing your way thru the home. They love songs especially the older ones.

Also if their are catholics, then have them gather on a certain day and pray the rosary with them.

Just a thought.
