How can I start evangelizing my home town?

Hi everyone. I live in a town where the parish has zero ministries for people looking for evangelism opportunities. There is no Legion of Mary, no praying the rosary before or after Mass, no praying the Divine Mercy Chaplet before or after Mass, and no other ministries that I know of that people from the parish can get involved in.

Anyway, I am wanting to start small like perhaps have my parish start praying the rosary before or after Mass, have the parish start praying the Divine Mercy Chaplet before or after Mass, or start getting a daily communion service or daily Mass going at my parish. I would love for our parish to have daily Mass or Communion service. How do I get that started?

There aren’t a whole lot of volunteer opportunities in my home town. The local food bank isn’t hiring any volunteers and I think the only other opportunity is a volunteer job at the nursing home. I’m not sure how I could be evangelizing by having a volunteer job at a nursing home.

The best way to start evangelizing is in your home. You can have a Rosary Group a certain day of the week to gather your friends and family together to pray and once thats strong, you’ll be an unstoppable force in your Church community!

Seek out and befriend like minded believers, introduce yourself and say you are in the process of building a group that will witness for the Lord.

Start a prayer group ministry yourself starting with these people.
Or start a Bible study ministry.

You can meet in the public library, or in your Church library, or rotate meetings at the members’ homes.

Your new group might be able to pool resources for a new evangelization mission in your town. A few dollars from everyone might be able to buy some paper to print out tracts on a member’s computer.

I was not talking about volunteering outside the Church (although those are great opportunities if you have them). I was talking about YOU volunteering to GET THOSE MINISTRIES STARTED at your own parish! YOU volunteer to lead the rosary before mass. YOU volunteer to lead the Divine Mercy Chaplet. YOU talk to the priest and/or deacon about getting the daily communion service started. Get the ball rolling!
