:bigyikes: 😃

Is that an accusation or a compliment? :hmmm: 😛

Actually, not for a Lutheran. Lutheranism is very doctrinaire, and therefore, Lutherans are bound to our confessions when it comes to doctrine. And frankly, I’m just not smart enough to do all that interpreting myself. As I said before, I view those who have gone before us in the faith as a gift of the Spirit.

No, I haven’t. I’ll look into it.

Well neither really, maybe just a suggestion that if the handwriting is on the wall why ignore it; of course Lutherans hold to their Doctrines alot of them probably better than many RC’s including this one, but the Doctrines themselves must be judged against each other in the light of revealed truth, all of it that has been given, not just part of it. Now a Lutheran or one of their communions might say yes, but you cannot take more than is given man which is what the Roman Catholic Church actually does by imploring the fullness of God’s gifts, God Himself the fullness of Him; His love, and Mercy.

Take this current question, I know doctrinally most Lutherans believe as we do that there’s a place of cleansing but it’s an absolute doctrine in the RCC, and we accept it as true even though it is based on Sacred Doctrine more than it is on Sacred Scripture at first glance anyway; but what it is really connected to is the unflinching faith of the Church in the fullness of God’s Mercy. And this is also where alot of Scriptures open up that fill in the foundation for what the Church is constrained by language to call Purgatory. Can you imagine the father of the prodigal son telling him upon his return something like, well, son you knew what was involved when you made your decision, no you can’t come back here even as a servant I’ve disowned you forever. This isn’t the real God that is that these so called christians are pushing, why accept something other than what is really meant for you to have? That’s what I’m asking I guess.
