How can we respond to "once saved, always saved"?

I have a non-Catholic co-worker who believes that “once saved, always saved”. He gave me a booklet that has quotes from the Bible to support this and even has quotes that refute it but then tells you why those are wrong! He seems very devout and commited to the Lord but I just don’t know how to respond to this one. Can you help?
