An article by Fr. Brian W. Harrison appears on your website, titled “Muslims Worship the One True God.”

According to St. John Damascene, a doctor of the Church, in his writing On Heresies, the stone in Mecca’s Ka’ba that Muslims kiss is “a head of that Aphrodite whom they used to worship and whom they called Khabar. Even to the present day, traces of the carving are visible on it to careful observers.”

A footnote to the above quote reads, “The Ka’ba, called ‘The House of God,’ is supposed to have been built by Abraham with the help of Ismael. It occupies the most sacred spot in the Mosque of Mecca. Incorporated in its wall is the stone here referred to, the famous Black Stone, which is obviously a relic of the idolatry of the pre-Islam Arabs.”

A copy of the section of On Heresies dealing with Islam can be found here:

St. John also says that Islam is a superstition and “keeps people in error, being a forerunner of the Antichrist.”

How can Muslims simultaneously be following a religion that is the forerunner of the Antichrist, kissing an idol of Aphrodite, and worshipping the ‘One True God’?
