How dangerous is this obsession of Satan?

There is a new man living in my workplace, I am a care worker and he has a lower mental capacity, maybe like a young teenager of 11 year old mentally.

He calls himself an atheist but believes Satan exists, he said he is obsessed with Satan and he does talk about him quite a lot.

On the one hand he seems to like the fact that Satan is “in charge of all evil” as he says but on the other hand says if he keeps talking about Satan that he will end up meeting him and Satan will roast him in Hell.

He said in a previous home he was looking up Satanical churches.

So, how badly can his obsession get for him spiritually? He doesn’t have the capacity or local friends to do any seances etc. but who knows what he might already know or do when he is alone, he may have learnt from someone or somewhere?

He doesn’t believe in God but believes Satan is a fallen angel.

What can I do other than tell him I do not wish to talk about Satan and what should I watch out for?

Thanks.

Pray for him.
He is just a kid.
What a kid says about anything spiritual is not necessarily true. He is not old enough.
Just pray for him and his family (who should be doing something about it since he is their kid).

He requires care from you, or your workplace? Tell him that satan has no interest in care. Care is God’s business. Ask him if he would like his caregivers to torment and torture him from now until eternity. That is what getting close to satan gets people. So stay away from satan and satanic temples.

Talk to your supervisor about this conflict of your beliefs

The poor man has a disability and does not have full control of his reason. Pray for his protection and show him that goodness of Christ brings caregivers such as yourself, as much as you’re able to. For all we know Satan just uses him to ward off those who are assigned to help him, so don’t let him tempt you away from that.

That’s my thought. Where on earth does this guy believe GOOD comes from?

My priest once described the devil as a rabid, mean dog that got chained up after the Resurrection. He’s restrained, and you’re safe from him as long as you don’t approach him, poke him with a stick, try to pet him and say, “Nice doggy,” etc. You just steer clear and seek out what is Good.

My only simplistic but effective advice is for the OP to pray for them man.

There might also be some psychosis along with cognitive disability.

The brain can dys-function, just like any other organ.

If you are responsible for his care, then take a look at his care plan and see if there is a strategy in place for when he starts to talk like this. If it’s distressing to him, or to other residents, then the care team needs to address it.
