This year was my first time attending the Feast of the Assumption celebration in my city’s Little Italy neighborhood. I had a great time and it got me wondering if anyone else has any special way to celebrate this day. What did you do to celebrate?

I started a 24 hour retreat by going to a vigil Mass at a beautiful church.
Truly a blessed 24 hours
Thankful

Today the parish church had its 100th anniversary Feast of the Assumption celebration. The celebration has dwindled a bit over the years - it used to have a picnic and fireworks at night - but now just has a Mass, procession through the downtown, and a prayer service after that with Adoration and Benediction. Still a nice procession with mummers. Do your parishes have a Mary procession? [20190811_142619] [IMG_20190811_170030] [20190811_144345] [20190811_144546] [20190811_145157] [20190…

I went to Mass on my way to work. It was only like the second or third time I’ve worn a T-shirt to Mass. Other than that, I didn’t do a whole lot.

I just went to a noon Mass. It was 113 degrees outside. The air conditioning felt good, the songs were good. I think we all felt a little wilted. To be honest, I attended the Mass, but just wanted to get back home.
I do love the Magnificat.

I was on the fourth day of a silent six-day individually-guided retreat (IGR) with the Jesuits. Mass late in the afternoon, Adoration in the evening, :pray:t3: with dinner served between the two. :plate_with_cutlery: 😋 All without having to leave the building 🙂
