In other words, you can’t answer the question either.
Mr. Clover,

In all seriousness–really? Did you read the post you are responding to? Your question has been answered many times in this thread and you won’t respond/address those answers.

See posts 38 and 40 for example–they are pretty good response–which you haven’t attempted to refute. In post 40 for example Matthew 26:26 is cited. Jesus says the bread is his body–you’ve offered no proof to the contrary. If you don’t believe what he said tell us why and not “I’m not wasting my time”. We have based our belief on the totality of scripture and the teaching of the apostles in the early church. Please make a detailed case as to why we are wrong in our understanding. Your earlier posts do not do that–they simply restate the same questions (asked and answered) and cast dispersions on us. In rereading some of the earlier posts–it was you who was impolite and accused us of things that simply are not present in the responses to you.

By your failure to address the answers provided to you I can only assume that it is you who can’t answer the responses posted to you. Just what question is it that you think hasn’t been answered?

Peace,
Mark

Actually, I did address your opinion several times.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to take my dogs out and let them swim for a little while before it starts storming.

My long-time Baptist friend recently asked me if it’s true that Catholics drink wine during the Eucharist (he said the Lord’s Supper). How am I to respond? Catholics believe that the wine is no longer present right? So, do they actually receive Jesus blood and not any wine?

Thanks.
Shark, did you get a sufficient answer here, or would you like some other help - perhaps a cite from early bishops or something from Augustine?

Well it wasn’t my opinion or argument that you have failed to address as I really haven’t offered one–others did that (I offered a couple of verses that support the belief is all) – I was chiefly pointing out that 1.) it is you who refuses to respond though you keep accusing others of this and I have offered the 2 posts you failed to respond to as evidence and 2.) it is you who have been dismissive etc.

If you would be so kind as to point out your posts – on this thread – that you beleive address the “opinion” - that would be helpful–because I don’t see them. Your first post #13 provides two verses–niether of which refutes the idea of the real presence. Your next post #14 doesn’t address the issue in any substantive way either–and why it doesn’t was addressed in another post.
Your post #18 just asks a question–which was answered.
Your response to a post citing Christ telling his apostles to take and eat his body was “After which, He gave them a piece of bread, not a piece of flesh” What is your point? You ignored that he said the bread was his body–which was pointed out to you. We could have had a nice discussion about what Christ meant.
Your post 26 just asks us how we know–and you were answered by posters and were cited two posts which you have failed to respond to or attempt to refute what has been offered. Instead you ignore the arguments, take shots, and are dismissive.

Simply claiming to have answered something doesn’t make it so. And if you have better things to do than engage in a meaning discussion of the issue then by all means do so–but please don’t offend our intelligence by telling us you offered any kind of argument or refutation of our belief for you have done no such thing. Just take your dogs swiimming without implying that that is somehow more important than actually discussing what the real presence.

People come here to discuss our understanding of the Bible–we should be able to discuss our differences of interpretation in a civil manner. You, Mr. Clover have been less than civil since your first post. No one is going to “win” a discussion over interpretation on one of these forums. All one can do is make a case–maybe plant a seed, an idea that may help someone when they are open to seeing or hearing the truth. We can often read the same Biblical passage without it speaking to us and then one day–the light goes on. We are all at different points in our walk with Christ and in our spiritual growth. These discussions should help us in that. I come here mainly just to read and consider and then investigate the arguments people make–it can be very helpful.

Why would you come to this discussion thread and open it with an uncalled for sarcastic remark? Does that serve your purpose? Does it help evangelize? Does it help lead anyone to Christ? Does it foster anyones spiritual growth or understanding of Scripture? Does it even help your spiritual growth?

May God send his spirit and his peace to you,
Mark
