Hi Julian. Excellent advice. Sometimes I wonder if leaving her and living chastely etc. would be better. But another part of me see’s Christ’s sacrifice for love, and I rethink. But yes, you are absolutely correct. The difference with the older girls is that their father was completely absent for about 20 years. I would most certainly not be be absent. But I find the idea of destroying the girls trust too heartbreaking to take seriously.
Besides, I am betting that some of you wonderful people have been praying for me and mine. I heard my wife, who I have been very clear to about my prolife stance, on the phone with the daughter in question yesterday. She said that if she were to have an abortion, she could not go with her, but would naturally help her after.
But then today, the daughter in question came over, with her fantastic one year old, and took special time aside to assure me, that even though she considered abortion, it is not something she could bring herself to do. So, she will not be having an abortion.
Phew!
I wouldn’t yell or carry on any way. That’s not me. When she announced she was pregnant with her first child, I expressed my disappointment, but both my wife and I assured her that we celebrate new life, regardless of circumstance.
Thankyou, everyone for your time and energy. I will stay with my wife. I will love her, and our children. I will go to church. I will practice an honest and open life, in all aspects of my life, I will try to trust that God doing things that I cannot.
Pax.
