I have a job and I’m the manager of my department. A few of my subordinates and fellow managers attend non-denominational services and for a time they have tried to get me to go and attend their Sunday services just to see if I would like it and I declined. I find it very difficult to communicate with them other than work, and I was wanting to know the best way to be a brother in Christ to those who frown upon my faith as a Catholic. Now they don’t bash me but they have made their intentions clear that I’m just wrong and my faith is some “manmade religion.” Now that makes it hard on me to even communicate in any kind of way about Christ with them. I told them I know what I have and I wouldn’t trade my Catholic faith for the world!

There is no reason you should be proselytized by or seeking to proselytize co-workers on matters of religion. If a subordinate gives you grief about your religious beliefs, it is time to counsel them on your company’s guidelines regarding discriminatory practices toward fellow employees based on that person’s religion. As for fellow managers, just smile pleasantly and change the subject back to a work-related matter. If the managers don’t get the hint and stop, you may have to seek assistance from your own supervisor.
