We have old bible audio cassettes which need to be disposed of but like a bible we want to be respectful of the Word of God. What is proper way?

I would take them to a Goodwill or other place that accepts donations. I found the gospel of John on cassette at one and was very glad to have found it.

I don’t know if this helps the discussion, but magnetic tapes degrade over time. I think they’ve only got a lifetime of a few decades, so if you have anything vital on magnetic tape, make sure to digitize it. You can get USB devices fairly cheap to convert them to digital format.

However, a grand solar wind event could also wipe out all digital data, so maybe it’d be best to keep things on paper.

Give them away or throw them out.

The cassettes at goodwills seem to all be rotting away and will probably be tossed in-mass before much longer, but who knows.

If they are blessed (unlikely), they must be buried.

If they are not blessed, they may be discreetly disposed of in any appropriate manner. Perhaps wrap them in a paper bag before placing in the trash.
