Hi
I have a Catholic friend who constantly attacks the church(Vatican) for it being so rich. He tells me that it shouldn’t be because God never intended for it to be like that. He also wonders why the church doesn’t help ( with all it’s wealth)all those starving people around the world who live in poverty. I understand what he is trying to tell me, but I still defend the church, only to fall short on answering his question.
Basically, what he is saying is that the church should be simple without its riches. How do I defend the church?
