How do I explain why I quit this job, when in fact I quit because my boss was requiring me to do unethical things?

When you are interviewed and questioned about why you left your last job, simply say, “my superior and I did not see eye-to-eye on some company policies, and I felt that due to my moral and religious obligations I needed to resign” or something to that affect. Ppl like to hire honest ppl, and ppl with morals, especially if you are going to be handling thier money.

This is by far the best advice so far. I used to do lots of hiring, the other suggestions sound too programmed and dodgy. Answer honestly, without giving specific details, but make sure it is clear you left because of ethical problems with how you were told to do your job. I would be shocked if any one asked about that on a reference check. They need to know why you up and walked out.

“I have good ideas about how to improve business, especially in building good longer-term relations with investors. I don’t want to be critical of X, but I felt that many of my ideas were not listened to. I don’t expect my employer to always take up my suggestions but I think they are always worth listening to”.

And then be prepared to give an example of a good idea, and possibly an answer to the question: give an example of a time when you were not listened to.

I “quit” a job. I cannot tell future employers the whole story. My explanation “I found that I didn’t fit in with the work culture at such and such a place. I did everything in my power to try and resolve the issues, but as you [future employer] know, sometimes there are people who aren’t open to change. In the end i had to consider innocent parties [patients] and so left”.

You give the future employer the opportunity to read between the lines without dumping on anyone or making yourself look bad.
