How do I know if I was really meant to be Catholic and I’m not just confused?

This has been a constant battle for me since I started this journey 2 years ago.

I get it. The only person in my family who doesn’t think I’m nuts is my mother, and I come from a family that’s Catholic going back at least 300 years.

This is so true and I’ve been reading more of the Bible, catechism, Vatican 2 documents, and about the lives of the saints. It helps to know a bunch of sisters and the higher-ups in the diocese

For someone claiming to be Catholic, your understanding is flawed. You can’t claim to be in a relationship with someone and love them if you never visit them. And people can and do go to church while believing Jesus died for them on the cross. Also, the demons believe Jesus died on the cross and that He’s God, are they saved?

As for your claim that Jesus never said for us to go church, that is patently false.
“4:16 And he came to Nazareth, where he was brought up: and he went into the synagogue, according to his custom, on the sabbath day: and he rose up to read.
4:17 And the book of Isaias the prophet was delivered unto him. And as he unfolded the book, he found the place where it was written:
4:18 The spirit of the Lord is upon me. Wherefore he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor, he hath sent me to heal the contrite of heart,
4:19 To preach deliverance to the captives and sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, to preach the acceptable year of the Lord and the day of reward.
4:20 And when he had folded the book, he restored it to the minister and sat down. And the eyes of all in the synagogue were fixed on him.”
Jesus in His youth, also from Luke:
“2:46 And it came to pass, that, after three days, they [Mary and Joseph] found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, hearing them and asking them questions.”
In John, Jesus going to the Temple in Jerusalem:
“2:13 And the pasch of the Jews was at hand: and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.
2:14 And he found in the temple them that sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the changers of money sitting.”
And so on. If Jesus went to church despite being God, why shouldn’t you? Is the church not the house of God? Why wouldn’t you go to God’s house?

I agree with most of this statement but, our spirits need to be feed and we can’t live without the sacraments. The only way we can get the sacraments is through the mass. The mass feeds our spirits because the Holy Spirit speaks through the priests in order to give us the word of God. You can’t get a degree without going to college so, how can you go to heaven without hearing the word. The more you attend mass the more indulgences you receive and the more you are being fed. You can’t possibly be full without attending the mass.
