Talk to me as I am a small child. Give me ideas for my day to make God my everything. How do I do this in simple terms?

Well, we can talk to you, but the simplicity needs to come from within. We can inspire you, but you must follow your inspiration. No one can make you “simple”. It come with grace. You can work on the many graces that you have and the many blessings that come to you. Even health problems can be a blessing and inspirational. I think of St. Francis as a young man languishing in prison. He became a “new man,” simple and humble, from his suffering and meditations. I will pray that you find the path you seek.

Isn’t this the aim of every saint? Y o ur best example would be Jesus. Peter and Paul also. They did not live for self, but for a higher purpose. This takes power. The source of spiritual power is the HS.Make sure to receive the baptism of the HS. Then,after you mature enough, ask Jesus for the baptism of fire.This should finally kill any desire for worldly achievement. If you want a modern day example, check out Heide Baker.She is a powerful Christian. You can find her testimony on YouTube. I would challenge anyone to find fault with her integrity and example of a Christian walk.

I think i have given you too complex advice.
Your first step is to rely upon God for everything you need or want. Write down what you want to have, do, or be. Then ask God for it and receive it by faith according to Mk.11:24. This will build your faith. Fath is the key to everything of God. It is the key to tke kingdom. Faith means to trust and not waver. It is the way of all saints. The first thing you must ask for at the beginning of each day is grace. There is a grace for every day. Receive it by faith. Read the bible every day and find a scripture for your day. Try to commit it to memory. I suggest you memorize Mt.6:33. Also memorize Psalm 1. You will see that they are saying the same thing. This is a beginning. The more you ask God, the better. Do not be afraid to go to Him and ask. He is not too buzy. He wants you to ask. You will need much more help than anyone can give you here.
Also memorize at least the first 2 verses of Psalm 23,

I am tempted by this as well, specifically in the area of career and social status (including relationship status, such as what it means to be a married woman versus a single one in the world). What I can say (do is another story…but we are all works in progress) is ask regularly (every day, every hour, during prayer times): What is the most important thing in my life? If the answer is anything other than God…sit with that. Pray about it. Tug at it a bit. Peel back the layers. And take it right back to God. He will show you the truth.

There is this British show on right now called “The Secret Lives of 4, 5, and 6 year olds” (basically a children’s version of “The Real World” with professional child psychologists’ commentary) and it makes you realize how much they are…well, themselves, even at a young age, with a lot more understanding of the way that the world works, even if they are doing more mimicking of adults than anything else. You get the sense that they might not fully comprehend the meaning of their actions yet deep down…they do. So, perhaps an answer to your request would be to follow that which is good and holy…prayers such as the Rosary, imitating the lives of the saints, attending Mass regularly…and, of course, listening to your Mother

Start with the practice of the presence of God by reading Brother Lawrence’s book of
“The Practice of the Presence of God”. When you can engage in constant conversation with God, consult with Him before doing anything, listen to him carefully and obey his every command, then He becomes your all.

Renounce your will, renounce your self-love, practice mortification, examine your conscience, accept humiliations, thank God for suffering, discern and conform to His will, develop a consistent prayer life, practice meditation, frequent the Sacraments, stay out of willful venial sin, learn the value of resisting temptation, pursue indulgences, make atonement and reparation for your past sins, practice devotion to Our Lady, read books by Saints, etc.

Hooray my brother. I was thinking this was a book that Catholics do not read. It is a favorite of mine. You can listen to it for free on YouTube. It is great inspiration, but hard to follow. It takes a lot of work in personal praise and worship before you can actually enter into the presence of God. Very few achieve such a great thing. Brother Lawrence became greatly sought after in his time be because of his ability to hear from God.

These are just some suggestions that I have, that came to my mind, where you can spend more time with Our Lord this way.
Are you able to go to an extra weekday Mass?
Can you go to Mass earlier, and spend a little time praying before Mass, quietly in church?
Can you find time to go to Adoration, and spend some time praying before the Blessed Sacrament?
Do you have any favorite prayers or devotions that you like to pray, like the Rosary, the
Chaplet of Divine Mercy, The Lord’s Prayer, etc. Just pray them when they come to mind, too.
