How do I reply to my LDS friend?

Hello, I recently had a friend attend Easter mass with me she is LDS. She asked me why in our readings we have translated them from the exact content they are in the bible? She said that they leave it exact so they won’t lose the original meaning to the scriptures. Can you help explain this so I can relay the answer. One of her talking points about her religion(LDS) is that they believe that other religions have translated the bible so many times that the meanings have been lost. I know this is not accurate but I need some help to explain this.
