How Do I use God's Grace?

I have several questions regarding grace.

1. How do I obtain grace(s)?
2. How do I know when I have it to take?
3. How do I cooperate with God’s grace (and what exactly does that mean)?
4. How do I know I have cooperated with God’s grace?

hey! you’re in my diocese!! yay!!
anyways…

1. from God…many ways! the sacraments, sacramentals, prayer, just asking for them, and then God just randomly giving them to you.
2. sometimes you don’t! but you know through interior spiritual promptings. you’ll realize one day, for example, it’s easier to pray your rosary daily b/c God has given you that grace to be able to do that. or religious ask for the grace to live a life of chastity, obedience, and poverty. they know it’s there b/c it’s easier to do then before. it’s not something you take like a book off a shelf. rather, it’s gradual.
3. i don’t know. doing what He asks of you i guess…and accepting what He hands you and praying for His grace.
4. joy in what you are doing…and then when you get to heaven God will tell you.

these are my answers based on my own personal experience. anyone who has better answers…that would be great!
