Why are you assuming that my sources have an agenda?
I can cite them if you would like:
Richard Marius
Paul Johnson
Jaroslav Pelikan
Alister McGrath
Christopher DeHamel
Two of them are Roman Catholic and one is Eastern Orthodox.
None of them have an agenda.
I could not cite Daniel-Rops and Crocker because they aren’t serious historians, they’re propagandists.
And I am glad to see you have returned to your original position, reasserting the claim that the canon was closed before there ever was a Lutheran Church.
You’re wrong.
Are you saying that the canon was somehow closed but scholars like Ximenes and Erasmus and Jerome were permitted to write and teach as though it were not?
That would be an interesting position to take.
Look, if you’re interested in actually discussing this, well, that’s what I am here for and I will happily interact with you. But if all you’re here for is to sling around the title heretic and grandstand and demean the arguer rather than dealing with the argument, then I guess I’m going to take a pass on the rest of the conversation.
