If the Devil is the Father of all lies and is capable of appearing as an angel of the light, is it not possible that the Devil made a very clever lie by pretending to be God and delivering the supposed “Word of God” to man. From this, the Bible is the Lies of the Devil, while the Devil was pretending to be God.

What if there is only the Devil and he has lured us into a false sense of security with one we believe to be The One True God?

So how is it that we know God is in fact God and not the Devil in disguise?

Aren’t other Christian Churches products of the Devil’s corruption where he has tried to drive God’s people apart. What if the Devil just wanted to be worshipped in many different ways to make it seem that one was God and another was a different God of a different religion and some were actually devil-worshippers when in fact all are?

I mean this purely out of curiosity. I hope it comes across okay.

Gad has infinitely more power than Satan. There’s millions of years of proof of that.
God bless.

The devil is only capable of præternatural phenomena, not supernatural.

Through reason we can know God is, and we can understand certain attributes of Him.

A house divided cannot stand.

Be careful.

But how do we know it IS God, and not Satan in disguise who then made himself appear weaker so as to make people believe in God?

God has made His presence known for eons in various ways (read Scripture)and has wrought more good upon the earth than there has been evil. Evil gets all the press.
But God is real, eternal, and GOOD. And in the end, Good will triumph over evil.
Ezechiel 37:12-14

We already possess the image of God within us, so we recognize His voice when He speaks. Related to this is that we have a sense of justice within, knowing what constitutes right and wrong. Our faith appeals to this inner knowledge even as this knowledge is also continuously challenged and compromised by the world we live in. And we’re wounded and compromised to begin with by original sin, which means that we’re separated from God from birth in a sense, His voice muted, His image dimmed. But it can all be awakened as we respond to the message, His revelation, with the help of grace. It’s a struggle in any case.

God is God. Using reason we can see some of the attributes of God.

If you want to say that your reason is deceptive and from the father of all lies so you can’t believe it, then you will notice that you can’t trust that reasoning as I just stated it.

I realise that.

But would the greatest lie not be to actually reveal the truth?

If you are renowned for only being the Father of Lies, then you speak the truth, no-one will believe you so people disbelieve the Real Truth.

No. You need to learn how the devil works. He tells lots of truths. Good liars do.

This is the point, however: he can tell you 999 truths just to slip one lie in there.

So no, he can tell many truths.

Talk about signal graces…today’s Gospel reading cover this quite eloquently. Read it and be forever blessed, friend!

Gospel JN 5:31-47
Jesus said to the Jews:
"If I testify on my own behalf, my testimony is not true.
But there is another who testifies on my behalf,
and I know that the testimony he gives on my behalf is true.
You sent emissaries to John, and he testified to the truth.
I do not accept human testimony,
but I say this so that you may be saved.
He was a burning and shining lamp,
and for a while you were content to rejoice in his light.
But I have testimony greater than John’s.
The works that the Father gave me to accomplish,
these works that I perform testify on my behalf
that the Father has sent me.
Moreover, the Father who sent me has testified on my behalf.
But you have never heard his voice nor seen his form,
and you do not have his word remaining in you,
because you do not believe in the one whom he has sent.
You search the Scriptures,
because you think you have eternal life through them;
even they testify on my behalf.
But you do not want to come to me to have life.

“I do not accept human praise;
moreover, I know that you do not have the love of God in you.
I came in the name of my Father,
but you do not accept me;
yet if another comes in his own name,
you will accept him.
How can you believe, when you accept praise from one another
and do not seek the praise that comes from the only God?
Do not think that I will accuse you before the Father:
the one who will accuse you is Moses,
in whom you have placed your hope.
For if you had believed Moses,
you would have believed me,
because he wrote about me.
But if you do not believe his writings,
how will you believe my words?”
