How do we know God is present in the Eucharist?

I am 17 and struggling with doubt. I have a lot of questions, but I figured I would start with the most pressing one, how do we know God is present in the Eucharist. In our world, it is just bread, and I cant seem to wrap my head around the fact that it is truly our Lord. I was wondering if anyone has any advice or suggestions, or even an explanation. Thanks!
