How do we know that a message given by an angel or of mary is true and not false

If it is authentic, it will not contradict the historical teachings of the church.

Uusally, Mary’s message is the same… Repent, come to her son, pray for peace. Nothing scandalous in that.

Another test is what fruit it bears over time.

The ultimate test is the Church. The Church only recognizes authentic messages. It is the Church that the Holy Spirit leads to all truth.
