How do we reconcile both 1Tim:5:8 and Mk:10:29-30?

‘’ Jesus answering, said: Amen I say to you, there is no man who hath left house or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or children, or lands, for my sake and for the gospel,Who shall not receive an hundred times as much, now in this time; houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions: and in the world to come life everlasting. ‘’

But if any man have not care of his own, and especially of those of his house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.

we are supposed to take the literal and spirtual sense of scripture, yet I feel that if we take the literal of both, we end up being ‘‘worse than an infidel’’.

how do we reconcile these peices of scripture with a sound commentrie or interpretation? what is the sound interpretation of these passages from the fathers? thougts anyone?

Jesus is calling us to put Him above all else.

The Apostle is calling us to be supportive of one another.

Key words. That is the literal sense, with those words emphasized.

In the first passage, the detachment and sacrifice of all that you hold dear for the sake of Christ, in the second, fulfilling Christ giving responsibilities for care of others.

You can sometimes do both, but sometimes Christ calls you to responsibilities that force you to sacrifice the second in the material sense, though the spiritual sense still exists in general.

When you understand the responsibilities we have and the method of the spiritual journey these two passages are understood to fit together perfectly. When you read them apart from the whole of the Faith it can be confusing.
