How do we reconcile 'Life is a gift' with 'All is vanity"?

Hi everyone! 🙂

We are often told that this life is a gift of God. It’s Heaven on Earth.

But in the Bible, the book of Ecclesiastes. It says “All is vanity”. “Vanity of vanities”, etc. etc.

So which one is it?
 
The vanity is the abuse of the gift.
When people think they can live without God.
