In a world that forces the shape of a heart as a gay parade flag on youtube? Or where, in spite of being able to comment on most of my local news sources media, they’ve disabled comments for their advertisement for the gay pride parade. How do I share the gospel in a world where no one wants to listen? Where Christians are maligned as being “superstitious” and “anti-science”, so how do we share the gospel?

I think we can share it by word (if possible/prudent), example, and prayer. Sometimes prayer & sacrifice is all we can do for those souls that are obstinate in error & sin.

By making it available to those who seek it. It is not our job to crusade or force our religion upon others, the lord will bring them home if they are open to him. And when they come home we welcome them😊

1 Peter 3:15 (RSVCE)

15 but in your hearts reverence Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to make a defense to any one who calls you to account for the hope that is in you, yet do it with gentleness and reverence;

1 Corinthians 2:1-5

2 When I came to you, brethren, I did not come proclaiming to you the testimony of God in lofty words or wisdom. 2 For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. 3 And I was with you in weakness and in much fear and trembling; 4 and my speech and my message were not in plausible words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and power, 5 that your faith might not rest in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.

At the bottom of the page, right hand side, there is a heading of Evangelization.

If there is a St. Paul Street Evangelization in your parish or area, you could get involved with them. It is a great ministry.

It’s best to share it with someone who already has a religious (not a spiritual: “spirituality” is different, and it no longer means that one believes in a deity or an afterlife) background. Remember, most of the converts in the early Church were either Jews, pagans, or philosophical Hellenists.

Of course, it is fantastic when an agnostic or atheist converts, but it may be easier to evangelize those with a background.

I don’t think you “share the gospel” in the comments section of a website. No one wants to “listen” because that isn’t a conversation.

The kerygma is something we share through personal relationship and testimony, not through the internet.

You spread the Gospel by living the Gospel. Your actions set the example of how to live the Gospel.

Saint Francis of Assisi used to say, “Preach the Gospel at all times. When necessary use words.”

In other words, live the Christian lifestyle of love, mercy, peace, humility, and joy, and God will inspire those around you with the grace to unite themselves to Him.

May God bless you always! 🙂

So I shouldn’t respond to the person who has his name listed as “Offensive Atheist” in the comments section on a website?

He apparently never said that. There’s still wisdom in those words, however.

This is absolutely true. However, do take into consideration that I have been going to a public university, and depending on how mother’s health is going, I may go back. People do talk about my faith there. Especially when insulting it.

I heard Fr. Larry Richards speak and part of his message was how to spread the Gospel. He said (paraphrasing) first you talk to God (pray), next you love the person, then you let the Holy Spirit get to work.

I wouldn’t recommend it. Especially since the Offensive Atheist might not even be sincere, but merely trolling. I’ve also seen a lot of outright racist comments made in reply to news articles about Black Lives Matter protests, comments very few people would dare make in public. I’m sure some of those posters are really that racist, but others might just be amused at how easily offended some people are.

Even the CA Blogs attract a lot of comments that are quite ridiculous, I also see obvious spam posted there as well. Once I saw someone claiming to be a banned forum poster, protesting the ban in a blog post comment. Apparently, even on CA, those comments are not subject to any moderation.

On the other hand, it seems most who post on the CA forum are interested in real dialogue and trolls eventually get weeded out.
