Besides attending mass on Sunday, what do you do to celebrate the Lord’s Day?
I notice that in the CCC, we are instructed to sanctify the Lord’s Day. An excerpt from the CCC says: “Sunday is traditionally consecrated by Christian piety to good works and humble service of the sick, the infirm, and the elderly. Christians will also sanctify Sunday by devoting time and care to their families and relatives, often difficult to do on other days of the week. Sunday is a time for reflection, silence, cultivation of the mind, and meditation which furthers the growth of the Christian interior life.”

I would be interested to know some of the things you do to celebrate Sunday in addition to going to mass. 👋

are we talking outside football season? in this house, football on TV is the other sacrament so I just look for something else to do from 1 to 10 pm while DH is otherwise occupied. it usually involves laundry in some form since it is the only time I am home during the week. this is our only day together, and I make a point of scheduling no parish activities since it should be family day. it’s hard to be a family by yourself, though. we usually do make it to the park after dinner for a walk and birdwatching.
