How do "you" define love?

Hello,

This is rather a personal question but how do you define “love”? To me, love is “a strong affection, closeness, or fondness towards someone or something that prompts one to desire (will) the good of the being”. Do you agree with this definition?

PS: One of my friends told me that love is “will”, not “emotion” like affection or fondness, but I don’t think it is right to separate the two, since emotions like fondness can have an effect on our desire. For example, if we really like someone, our desire for the betterment of that person will be greater than our desire for the betterment of some total stranger. After all, is love really a love if it is not accompanied by genuine affection?
 
Love for me is realizing that a part of me lives with someone else. At all times. Like that without that person I’m not completely whole.

And I mean it doesn’t have to be even returned. It can just be a one-way feeling. There’s no harm in that. It also doesn’t have to have a physical component. But usually has an emotional side. Yet not always.

I will spend my last mote of energy for my loved ones. I will sacrifice what I have to. I will die for them.

But maybe most importantly. I will live for them too.
