How do you fast on bread and water?

At Medjugorje, our Lady asked that we fast on bread and water. I understand only bread and water is to be had at all meals, but how is it done? Do you have breakfast and then one complete meal (or two half-meals) like we do during Lent?
 
Medjugorje is not an apparition that has been approved by the Church. That “Our Lady of Medjugorje” would recommend such a strict fast that is inappropriate for many people is an indication that this apparition should not be trusted, followed, or given credence, unless and until the Church officially determines otherwise. Anyone who is considering any kind of fast that goes above and beyond what the Church requires on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday should consult with his doctor first and should only proceed under the supervision of the doctor and a balanced, orthodox spiritual director.
