Discerning Catholic: Roommate in Sacramento/Roseville area.

I may be in the wrong place for this and if so, please just advise me.

I am somewhat concerned about appropriate living conditions while discerning (I’m very easy going but definitely not the partying type).

I live in Sacramento California and am moving soon. I am considering the Sacramento area or Roseville (nearby).

I am looking for a roommate who may also be discerning or is at least sympathetic to the process. I’m very laid back and down to earth and you wouldn’t even know I’m in discernment unless you wished to talk to me about it.

Just an average “no pressure” guy looking for a year (or more) to work things through. Very respectful of other’s privacy.

If anyone out there knows of a resource that assists with this, I’ll gladly accept it with gratitude.

Thanks to you for your understanding and I again apologize if I’m in the wrong spot.

Peace,

TheCall

If you are a young adult, consider going to the housing dept.of Catholic colleges and post a notice that you are looking for a roommate. Or put your ad in their school paper. At least it’s a place to start especially if you are unfamiliar with the area. And with all things, pray. Consider even a novena, a prayer of nine days for the intention of finding a good roommate. God bless you on your quest.

What you seek is what we at Cloister Outreach plan to do eventually–houses for discerners under the patronage of either St. Gemma Galgani or St. BJ Labre.

Since we don’t have these discernment houses up and running yet, I shall have to refer you to the Phatmass phorums. There are more Californians there than I think here, but I’m not sure. (And I hope CAF doesn’t mind my saying that).

Start with not only prayer, but also ask the diocesan vocation director if he/she knows of anyone looking for the same.

HTH.

Blessings,
Cloisters
