how do you get a person who is very sinful and you lve very much to move out of that sinfulness even though you pray a lot for that person and ask other people to pray for that person but nothing happens no matter how much you reason and pray for that person?

St Monica prayed constantly for over 20 years for the conversion of her husband and son who both led sinful lives. Not only were her prayers answered and both converted, the son went on to become St Augustine the brilliant theologian and Doctor of the Church.

Moral of the story is that it will probably take time. Don’t get impatient and don’t give up praying. Pray to St Monica for the strength to follow her example.

I agree with LilyM, and just remember that people’s conversion happens on God’s time, not ours. It is really hard to stay motivated when all of our prayer seems useless, but rest assured that it is doing far more good than you’ll ever know.

Keep it up.

You have been given good advice.

It is also good to remember that we can change ourselves by drawing closer to the Lord and growing in His Grace. Doing that, and surrendering and praying for the person also, will help much.

When they see the peace of Christ you have, that will help them to want the same thing.

I agree that there is nothing you can do immediately unless you hold guns to their heads. That would be short-lived, at least for someone! Never stop praying, but, pray to God to show you - and them - His extraordinary love each and every day, starting today. You’ll have to pray this daily, then. Take care not to blame God for their infirmities. He didn’t do it; they did. Make up one good, short prayer asking God to show you His love today, write it down and give it to each of them. Ask them to simply read the statement every day.

You might want to write to Father Patrick A. Martin at:
Ave Maria Place
P. O. Box 16
Stafford Springs, CT 06076

and get a copy of, “Speaking God’s Love to a Broken World.” They will accept a donation for the book, whatever you can afford. The book does not have a price. Fr. Pat’s ministry is a traveling ministry. He has a one person staff, I believe, and can’t do much himself as he is constantly traveling and speaking. Besides, he’s blind.

I sent you another recommendation by email. We are all praying for you and your loved ones.

Stop trying to change people, accept them completely for who they are…and you will allow them to experience the very heart of your faith.

Unconditional Love and forgiveness.

Eventually, in their own time…they will begin to ask why and how you had the capacity to do it.

If you keep trying to “convert” them, then I suspect you may have a thing or two to learn about your own faith, before you try and change others(or believe you have the capacity to).

Cheers

Are you talking to me? Hmmm? Are you personified as the male, or, the female part of you today, Dame Edna? (Or, are you impersonating the comedic?) I need to know so that I can determine how aggressive I need to be in my response to your ridiculous assertion - if, you were talking to me.

By the way, the OP indicates the religious preference of “Catholic”.
