How do you know when to stop praying for a specific intention?

I am not asking about to stop praying at all. How can you know that this particular request should not be included in your prayer anymore? Do you ask God to take away the desire to pray for your specific intention? How can you recognize that God’s answer is no or wait?

Perhaps pray about it.
Like, “should I still continue with this intention?”
Of course, you could just continue to pray for it.

If, after praying for an intention for years and it not getting it or if anything the opposite happening, I determine that it’s not God’s will and stop praying for it.

Hard to say. Keep praying if you feel a desire for something, but say to God, always…"but whatever it is you want, God, I choose that, because you know what is best for me and for everyone. "

Oh, I’ve been talking to God about marriage, getting married, for a long time. It’s likely he won’t answer in the affirmative, yet I often mention it and reconcile myself and am at peace with what he wills for that day, month, year, the future, trusting that his plan will be best.
