This burning question came up on another thread, so I thought it would be a good time to question the posting audience as to their habits in this domestic chore.
(Please Note: This uploaded content is no longer available.)All I know is it always seems to fall to me to do it…even in public washrooms. Am I doomed?
Well, I never thought of the paint since I am usually the one who puts the roll on. I just know that when it is on backwards, i.e. coming out closer to the wall, my knuckles get bloodied up trying to grasp that little piece of paperDefinitely over the front because if the paper comes off the back of the roll, it is very close to the wall. It is amazing the damage that fingernails bumping the wall can do to that painted wall after years, so I keep the paper as far away from the wall as possible because I am the one who paints.
LOL, yes, I daresay, that’s an important point you make!Well, I never thought of the paint since I am usually the one who puts the roll on. Guess that is another reason to have to paint the wall, blood stains are very hard to cover up!

Miss Manners published an opinion on this? Oops, I mean, a directive? What about Amy Vanderbilt and Emily Post?OVER THE FRONT!
Me and Miss Manners agree on this point, and anyone who brings it around back or thinks it doesn’t matter is just plain wrong.

I don’t really care as long as we have money to buy some to put it anywhere!!! (crohn’s disease et al…) Just don’t ask me how much money!
Anyone who argues this point is…anal retentive…![]()
I love that brand. It lasts forever, it does it’s job, and it doesn’t leave a mess behind like some of those “extra soft fluffy” brandsLOL!
Hey, btw, MY favorite brand of TP is Scott! It’s rocks!

They don’t call it ‘Scott’ for nothing. The Scotts are known for their incredible thriftiness…I love that brand. It lasts forever, it does it’s job, and it doesn’t leave a mess behind like some of those “extra soft fluffy” brands![]()
Whoa! Do not let the Troglodytes hear about this! Surely they will immediately try to either steal the idea or kill anybody who thinks about it!What about us cloth users??? When we actually use TP, it goes with the first sheet coming from the front. But we mostly use cloth… it’s cheaper, easier to train a child (you just need ONE cloth dear, not half a roll of toilet paper) and to be honest, can clean up alot better…
Reluctantly if not impishly, and done deftly so while in process of settling another battle. She just couldn’t resist dipping her toe into this particular brouhaha.Miss Manners published an opinion on this? Oops, I mean, a directive? What about Amy Vanderbilt and Emily Post?
Yes, and Emily Post and most hotels (3+ stars) support this as well. It also uses less…OVER THE FRONT!
