How do you use your Roman Missal?

Please have patience, I’m still a newbie Catholic (second year anniversary this coming Easter Vigil!).

Patience is the Virtue I am most working on now.

Congratulations on becoming Catholic.

And Happy Anniversary! (I most likely won’t remember to say this on easter. )

I But there’s so much in it that it’s just slightly confusing (though in a very good way). How do you use your Roman Missal?

I call it “the last prayer book you will ever need” which is an exaggeration if you pray LOTH, but nonetheless, the prayers in mine are one of its best features.

do take some time to explore your new treasure. some features, besides the excellent introductory material, various calendars (which I consult continually), the various Eucharistic prayers, including some many of us never hear, the readings and prayers for “optional” saint memorials, the commons for various purposes, which again many of us never hear, the actual rubrics (vs. what some liturgist dreams up). also, the entrance and communion antiphons which also seem to get lost most of the time.

I have 2, and use one for our “altar” set-up at CCD which we use during “1st communion” prep season to teach about the Mass.
