I believe that my daughter was unjustly expelled from a Catholic high school. A priest gave the final okay to expel her. I was advised to write letter of complaint to the bishop. How do you suggest writing this letter?

With the assistance of the St. Joseph Foundation, a Catholic apostolate that specializes in matters of canon law and assists Catholics in defending their rights within the Church. When you consult with the SJF, you might also ask them if your daughter should also write a letter to be included in the package to the bishop, and, if so, what that letter should include. If your daughter is in high school, she certainly is old enough to be expected to take an active role (albeit one that is guided and supported by you) in seeking reinstatement. Please keep in mind that your role as her parent is not to teach other people how to treat your daughter, but to teach your daughter how to interact respectfully and appropriately with other people – particularly those who hold positions of authority in her world.
