How does Daniel 2:44 predict an "EARTHLY Kingdom"?

44 In the lifetime of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that shall never be destroyed or delivered up to another people; rather, it shall break in pieces all these kingdoms and put an end to them, and it shall stand forever.

I’ve seen it argued that Daniel 2:44 predicts an earthly kingdom (one established by Christ, built upon rock, meaning Peter).

In reading this, I do not immediately see why the kingdom has to be earthly. It seems to me that the “Kingdom of Heaven” established by Jesus at his assumption would also meet the description shown here in Daniel.

What am I missing? Does Daniel 2:44 necessarily mean an earthly kingdom?
 
As apocalyptic literature, Daniel doesn’t necessarily say anything in a way we understand.

That said, the “Kingdom of God” is indeed here, now, as Jesus preached:

The Kingdom of God is visible to us today in the Church.
