How does God see us in light of our vocations? I know that we make have to make distinctions here on earth- but in heaven will there still be “consecrated souls” and those who aren’t? Or are we all sacred in heaven? How does He see us now? Is there some difference in the way He sees our souls?

Hi Elizabeth Anne,

I am by no means an expert but I do believe we were all made in God’s image and likeness. I think God sees our soul as His creation and wants it to remain beautiful and spotless. He also sees it for what it really is when we sin – stained and dirty. By the time we make it to Heaven our souls will be purified and eventually reunited with our glorified bodies. Those who received the sacrament of Holy Orders will always carry a special mark on their soul. I’m thinking that other “Religious” will also have a special mark on their soul for their service to God and us. So all souls in Heaven will be beautiful and spotless and us humans will be reunited with our body at the end of days. Hope that helps. Take care.

Unlike in the kingdom of man, where people see great differences between what we judge as the best and worst of us, to God, there is barely a sliver of difference.

Were it not for Christ, God the father would have wiped the slate clean 2000 years ago and the history of man on earth would be over.

Thank you for your answers!

I am wondering about the *theological *difference- if there is one- between consecrated life and non-consecrated life, both here and in eternal life. Does anyone know the Church’s perspective? Are the differences only in terms of how we live life or does it go deeper to the level of differences in the soul?

Thanks and God bless!
Elizabeth

Okay…I might be a pest, but I was really hoping someone might answer my question…So, any thoughts anyone?

Do religious vows leave an indelible mark on the soul?

Thanks and God bless you!
